A List Of Self Esteem Books For Boys In Teen Years

By Rosella Campbell

When a boy is in his teen years, it is here that he will have the most problems when it comes to his self esteem because it is in this part of his life that he will be trying to find his identity. Because of this, he will be trying to fit in a lot with a lot of other people in order to try to build up that esteem of his. In order to make sure that he does not go down the wrong path, it is always best for parents to buy some self esteem books for boys in these years.

Now the book named Developing Emotional Literacy with Teenage Boys is definitely one of the best books targeted to males who are in this age. This book was written by one of the most famous inspirational authors whose name is Tina Rae. This book aims to take a closer look into the heads of young men at this age.

Now in a nutshell, the author aims to try to make the emotional state of each young boy more stable. As stated above, males at this age are trying to become men so that they will be respected by their peers, by their relatives, and generally everyone around them. This book actually does give some great insights on how males can build up their confidence by being their own person and not letting society dictate who they should be.

Next on the list would be a book that is entitled Battlefield of the Mind. Now this book was actually written for a Christian audience because it was written by Joyce Meyer, a Christian author. However, if one would read the book, he will realize that aside from the mentioning of faith and the like, it is actually a great book for non Christians as well.

Basically, this book would concentrate on the negative things that would fill the mind of people who are going through a stage of having low esteem. The author would not only have some inspiring words for the readers but also some techniques for people to try. The author would want to try to get people gain control over negative thoughts.

Now the last book on the list is probably the most helpful for the boys who are in this time of their lives. The book is Real Boy, Rescuing our Sons from the Myths of Boyhood. The author of this wonderful book is William Pollack. What makes this book different from the others is that it includes a lot of psychological studies as well as insights.

Basically, this book recounts how men are expected to react every time there is a problem. While girls may cry or complain whenever something happens to them, society dictates that men cannot. They are expected to keep it inside and solve it because that is what real men do.

Now this kind of ancient mentality can be quite dangerous to the males of this generation because the author recounts that expectations are getting more and more. The author does encourage open communication between both the parent and the child so that the parent will know what is really in the head of the child. The author also encourages males to cry if things do get too much.
