Great writing skills are not meant to be wasted. So, simply allow this article to provide you with the outlet where you can channel your talent. You would have to start small. The journey to how to write a book is not a pressured one. Thus, take your time during the first few days. Try to write at least three hundred words per day. If you can go beyond that, the better. However, learn to find your rhythm so that you can make this a consistent number.

Write an outlet for the plot. Yes, most writers are known for doing what they want but try to decipher every book in your collection. They may be different from one another but they remain to be divided into three. Aside from the beginning and end, you need to give something that is either exciting or frightening in the middle.

Be consistent with the time for your work. This would help you keep up with your deadlines once you are already a professional. Pick up the hours when you feel most productive. If these are in the wee hours of the morning, so be it. This is one of the perks which you could get as a freelance writer.

You should have a secret spot for your writing time. This will keep your work away from privy eyes when it is not yet finished. It is important for you to stick with your original concept for you not to face any plagiarism lawsuit. This can also make you proud that you have invented this plot all on your own.

Have a word count for your chapters. Books may all be about creativity but you will always have to adhere to the deadline of your editor. So, simply train yourself to become at your most organized self for you to prove your worth to all the publishers out there. Be a novice who already has an understanding on the basics in this craft.

Have deadlines every week. This is already on your personal progress. As a writer, the greatest enemy you have is your laziness. If you would not put enough pressure on yourself, you shall start to treat your job for granted thinking that you still have more time to finish your chapters.

You must welcome constructive criticism with open arms. However, find something to do while you are still waiting for the feedback. You can start conceptualizing again or you can decide to go out and be exposed to the actual world once again.

Do not let your first draft stay with you for too long. You are still going to be rejected one way or another. So, the best thing for you to do is get on with it and start again for you to know how you can get better as a writer.
