Blogging & Its Benefits For Art Students

By Katie Onson

Art, as many will be able to tell you, is the type of field that encompasses a number of mediums. Amongst them is writing, which can be as powerful as those involved in it would like. Of course, the same be said about blogging, even though many others utilize it for the purpose of releasing their thoughts in an almost therapeutic way. However, you may ask the question: what are the benefits of blogging for those who consider themselves art students?

Blogging is collective, to say the least, and you can see this as you scour the Internet. Just about every subject in the world has a litany of blogs to take into consideration, each of them able to bring different viewpoints to the forefront. Whether your interests lie in cooking, finance, or what have you, blogging has something for you to touch upon. Of course, there is more to be had with blogging than simple covering of the material you like.

I believe it's important to touch upon awareness as well. More specifically, you want to be able to invest in websites which have different levels of reach, which is one of the reasons why I believe Tumblr to be such a popular entity. This microblogging social network of sort is one that has a wide audience to consider and it is one that can be reached through the utilization of hashtags. Much like Twitter, these particular hashtags are ones which are able to make posts on Tumblr easier to search.

If you want to utilize blogging as a means for putting down your own thoughts, you have the ability to do so. Keep in mind that many people have busy lives, which means that there might be key events that they can look back on and talk about, provided they have the desire to do so. It could be something as simple as a stroll through the park or an encounter with an unruly shopper. Regardless, blogging probably has more personal meaning than it is given credit for.

Whether you are someone who specializes only in writing or not, blogging has a tremendous level of importance to it. One of the best things about being a blog writer is that you do not necessarily have to be an expert on words to become great at it, even though such a skill is valuable. You have to be a good storyteller, first and foremost. If you are able to take advantage of this ability, there is no doubt that blogging will have some value to you.
